Let's Talk About Us

We are Britney and Marlayna! Together we created BaM to be an inspiration source for those obsessed with distinctive handcrafted projects & creative makers. We feature ideas for weddings, home, workshops, and more from creative Maryland locals! We want to always provide inspiration for you to start a new project, create something special for your wedding or home, or simply meet another creative who's passionate about making!

Discovering and promoting local creatives is such a huge passion for us. We know everyone starts somewhere, and whether you're just beginning to craft, just beginning your business, or just looking to reach out to more makers, we want to help support you in this awesome community. Through Creative Markets and Maker Spotlights, we want to shout out about makers, new and experienced! We want to connect small business owners and at-home crafters in any and every way we can!

How do you know each other?

We met in college at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, but we really didn't become friends until Marlayna shot Britney's wedding in October 2014. At that point we kind of just flew into friendship and started dreaming of beautiful styled shoots!

Where are you based?

Our home base is Baltimore, Maryland, but we do travel and have some grand plans for where we want to take BaM!

Do you ever fail at doing a project?

Of course we do! We even have a name for it - #failityourself :) But what is failure other than a learning experience? You can try something and not have it result in the success you were hoping for. But what's more valuable, is taking those lessons and making the next thing you try better.
